finaly got around to thinking about pulling the motor out of the back seat of the 1100 and it looks like its had a bit of work done... noticed a lot of grinding out on the gearbox ,The two were sitting together but not bolted, where the crank swings, and thought hmmmmmmm whats the go here.. havent had a chance today to flip it over and see what the crank is in there but you can bet Ill be looking first thing in the morning... been a big day out today for the family mini mini mini... its been very worthy... oh and on another topic, any idea what id get for a set of straight cut gears??.. |

Probably it's an early gearbox case- they needed a bit of grinding for a 1098 crank & rods to spin. I once put an 1100S on an early 850 case, had to cut 4 friggin holes in front for the rods to miss! Masking tape and araldite it, then paint- never leaked a drop! ![]() re the SC gears- depends what they are and condition. New set of 3 synchro ones here is $1100+, 4 synchro ones $1600+. Bit cheaper if brought in from UK. |
