I replaced the battery, it looked a little old, started today took it for a drive and then it stopped at the lights and won't kick over. I have taken the starter solenoid off and cleaned the connections but still won't go. If i leave it for a while it starts again, i'm lost. arrrggghhhh I can jump start it no problem but just won't go after i've been driving for a bit?? |

check that the cables where they go it the terminals at the battery are tight on both the battery post and the cable and check the earth lead on the body in the boot where the cable goes and maybe the earth lead from the engine to the body as well.] I had a loose cabel but the terminal was tight on the battery and it gave me the poo's for a day or three untill I found what the problem was. |

yeah check your earth cables for sure, in the boot and on the clutch housing. do you have a multimeter? if so check that you are getting around 14v when running. could be your alternator not charging the battery so your battery is just getting drained and when you stop it doesnt have enough juice to start again. and when you say it stopped at the lights, did it just die? and when trying to crank it over again what is it doing? |
