The Hail & rain we just had was "MASSIVE"!!!!

I was standing 2 feet away from Archie & we were yelling at eachother & still couldn`t hear eachother

The water was literally a 3 inch deep rapid washing through my shed,,, it`s subsided now down to a stabe inch deep

i know we needed the rain but........

:-(

i know what i`ll be doing tomorrow & it will have something to do with water drainage & mopping up

Hope everyone else wasn`t hit too bad

I guess i can't complain, we havent been hit hard by any of the storms this week. The little "temporary" carport (proper frame with tarp thing from supercheap) which was snuggled in between the fence and the garage just ended its "temporary" life and collapsed on my mini. Took some paint off the roof but i guess thats nothing. I cant even begin to imagine what some people are going through right now.

The farmers around here were hoping for 3 inches of rain to help finish off they're crops about 3 months ago.
We've had about half an inch since then and the crops are all just about stuffed.
Anything more than 30mm in one day is a good drop for us.
But the rain that you fellas have had up there has been insane.
Keep safe people!!

Post subject:  Rain ... What rain ?

Rain.... Well yesterday at around 5 ish I was up on the roof of my house cleaning the gutters as I do not want crap getting into my water tanks and all of a sudden the sky got so dark. Then through the trees on my property and the next you could hear the scarey wind noise. I flew down the ladder. Then it came and trees were spinning around and swaying and I also heard branches snapping in my back paddock. The rain that followed was un believeable. We also lost electricity from about 6 pm till 2 am this morning. We still ended up cooking a meal on our Camping Gas stoves and we had a candle lit Dinner. Well after all it is our 28 wedding anniversary today ! Yes Viv and I have been married for 28 years. I think Minis have kept us together !
This morning I will be doing the rounds on my property and having a look at what Damage we copped.

Cruising around ippy yesterday after wednesday night down pour, saw half of our road bridges under water, Booval train tracks swept away into car parks and houses acrosss the street, schools flooded and closed, business(mini auto) and houses flooded.
The media was saying worst since 74. I thought yeah right , typical media gee up.
They were right. It was massive.

On Sunday afternoon I was stuck on samford road in the middle of the storm
The car got covered in hail and flying branch damage, it was incredible trees were falling down everywhere, roofs flying, power lines lying on the road everywhere
Good thing it wasn't the mini and insurance covers the damage, but there were some very unlucky people over that way, it looked like a war zone
