Post subject: | Dip Switch |
It it normal for the dip switch on the headlights to go the wrong way? That is to say forwards for Hi Beam and towards you for dip. Its the opossite on every other car Ive driven. Is it just that my Clubbys wired up wrong? Will probably fix it up to go the other way when I can find a few mins anyway (probably be about 2006). |

Sorry I got that the wrong way round. In the mini I pull lever back for hi beam, forwards for dip. In my other cars pull back for dip then a bit more for flashing, forwards for hi beam. |

I think yer switch has been fitted back to front on the column somehow, and wired up so the indicators work properly. Speaking of which, I gotta change mine too. Damn thing keeps falling forwards onto high beam all the time.... Is it true that Mk.3 (series 3) Land Rover indicator stalks are the same?? |

Hows this for reviving a freaking old post. Yeah they do fit; MiniKing here in adelaide (Blair Athol Auto Parts) the dude knows the wiring and hes made up a few that go straight into the mini plug. I was very tempted to buy one at 90 bux. ![]() |

I have a nasty suspicion that buying a Rover Mk 3 indicator switch from your nearest dealer will set ya back about 75 bucks anyway, so I dont think 90 bucks would be that bad |

Nearly the same but not quite.. There's a bend in the stalk (it don't matter) but also where the thing clamps to the column the diameter is bigger. You would need to stick a bush between it and the Mini column. ps I know this 'coz I got an old one- it's burned out toooo! So they are no better really. ![]() |
