does anybody know where i can buy the fresh air heater plastic pipe from in melbourne ? (the big one thats about 83mm in dia.) without paying big money for it from a mini garage |

I went looking for this stuff last winter and couldn't find it anywhere. Instead, I used PC CPU fan ducting and a 80mm case fan, totalling around $30 online: 
This is a neat fit inside the heater outlet and firewall inlet, so I used a little tape to hold it in place. Works brilliantly, and converts the old fresh-air heater into fan-forced

I did similar but used an Attwood 3" bilge blower from Bias Boating. Blows more air but makes more NOISE!! |

Have a look for rangehood ducting in Bunnings. There were a few different diameters avail last time I looked, and it's light, flexible, aluminium and ribbed, looks almost-sort-of original... Wasn't too expensive either; $25ish irrc. |

Here's mine, the blower is the white thing- it just sits in the ducting flange on the bulkhead.

Wasn't too expensive either; $25ish irrc. Smallest size Bunnings stock is 100mm.. Believe me, I checked there, it's the first thing I thought of

nah, I want the smaller stuff (maybe 50mm) that goes from the S heater windscreen outlets to the windscreen duct tin foil on the inside, black paper on the outside |

I took the opportunity and dropped into the Purple Pig today (that's a pretty dodgy name btw...) for the small windscreen demister duct stuff. I have some of the original stuff (which is more like washing machine drain hose than anything else) but it's not really up to scratch. The modern equivalent is nearly identical, but 300 times better quality. It's flexible, durable and hi quality all around. A bit expensive at 17 dollars per meter however...but it's a done deal.... I looked at the other ducting available, the duct you are after for the inlet is very similar to the original, and is available in 60 to 600 mm diameters. Forgot to get a price unfortunately..... |
