hey all found a 1100s for sale and was thinkging
of giving the guy $200 for it how much parts are interchangable
between that and the mini, besides the engine, i assume
there is not much more you can use?

i may just use it as a daily driver for a while, its bog standard at
this stage, keep ur fingers crossed

I will cross them for you, and pray that you won't waste your youth
in a garage fiddling with a car that when you've finished will
not attract people of the other sex.
Get something cool

dash toggle switches are basically the same as a roundie, gearbox is only a 3 synchro, and the remote is different, the master cylinders are the same (I think), and the brake master cylinder appears to be the same as Cooper S. Having a junker like that is really handy when you want some lucas coloured wires etc. I've got couple of triumph looms and all the colours/tracers are the same

for $200 it's a really good buy, I value the engine at $400

$200 is a good price, but make sure you check the numbers first. I got caught out last time....

-Mine was advertised as an 1100S.
-it was badged as an 1100S.
-it was really a plain old Morris 1100, rebadged. It did not have a 1275 under the bonnet.

Luckily I only paid 65 bucks for it

So yeah, check the engine number has 12YD/Ta/ on it. Make sure it has a 12G940 head too.

Chris

You must have really enjoyed driving the 1100 at our last BBQ. If you don't buy it let me know as we will.

When are you going to buy an 1800???

well i thought the price was right, it is definately a
1275cc, the asking price was $1000 but i had a look
and spole to the owner and said all i would pay is $200
as i dont need the car, but i figure no one is going to be
knocking down the door to buy the thing, so if he calls
me i buy it and leave it out on the street away from the house
as i would be well and truly evicted form my house
if i ever thought of bringing another car home
