Post subject:  Paul Smith Mini Bags

Has anyone bought one? They're worth quite a bit but there's some on ebay kinda cheap (maybe not 'genuine' but still super cool!).

I first saw one of these bags at the Ekka this year. Some chick had one so I asked her where she got it from...China :(

I've just found them on the net and am really wanting to buy one...a cheaper one that is...not a $600 dollar bag lol :P

Anyone else seen them around or have got one?

Me don't get it. Folks in China make heaps of stuff we buy everyday. Why do people think that knock offs are necessarily bad? Most times the so called copies are production managers running staff on dodgy overtime and making the very same stuff we pay a motza for thru 'reputable' retailers. I love shopping in Chine where the stuff in the markets is the same kit we pay a premium for when it hits our stores.
Suspend the scepticism and take a look methinx.

Who's going to know it's a lookalike anyway.

I'd much rather spend my money else where and just have a cool-as mini bag :P

Totally...
Some big luxury brand actually manufactures second-grade quality products (that people perceives as knock-offs) & sell them in different markets.
That way you satisfy your top-end market (less quantity but high price) and low-end market (low price high quantity)...more money into their pockets.
Of course, there will be minor differences of the products that only experienced buyers can notice.

Okay, I'm going to chime in on this one...

I know in some cases there are huge price differences, etc. But it's worth considering how buying from some markets makes a difference to all aspects of our economy and industries.

Buying cheaper things from overseas undermines our own retail industry (which provides like 1/4 of the jobs in the country) and also our own manufacturing industry (which again, thanks to China is bordering upon nonexistent).

I know it's not the case with this particular product, but for other situations, think twice about where your product is coming from, and who it is sold by. Future generations will thank you for it, when they still have a decent range of quality products to buy, manufactured locally, retailed locally, and they still have somewhere to work.

Thanks for putting up with me!

He makes some very funky, expensive suits with fluoro purple lining (same colour as the Paul Smith Mini  ). So if you're not into haute couture, no, you shouldn't care. :)
