I have a whole drawer full of VMCi magazines, each month I get another one, flip through it and (sometimes) add it to the drawer..... but I never look at them, I can't bring myself to throw them away

I'm tidying up my office and they're in the way....

should I chuck them?

before you chuck them check with the club librarian and see if they have lost any and then offer them to the other members and then chuck em out

I don't keep the club mags (maybe if I was a VMCI member it would be worthwhile) but I do keep every car magazine that comes into the house and have every Australian Classic Car Magazine since they first started - bloody big pile now!

I wish more members would read their magazine more thoroughly :?

Then - as the editor/promotions/social secretary for the MCC NSW I wouldn't have to answer the same questions on the phone each day which can easily be found in the magazine.

I put a lot of effort in to the club mag. I ask members (when they ring me asking for an upcoming event location) if they read their magazine - answer.........umm, sometimes. :x

Keep the mags Simon. I'm always flicking through old club mags. The ones from the early sixties are a great read (no, I'm not that old :) ).

Keep them of course!

Why else did I slave over a hot keyboard putting together the Best Victorian Mini Club Magazine ever?

And I'm sure KJ shares this view.

Editor's never want to hear that members don't read the mag. It's soul destroying!

At the very least, go through them and save everything I ever wrote then chuck out the rest. It may be worth something one day!

Then again, maybe not.

Cheers. And have a great Christmas. Pottsy

I do read them when I get them (obviously I pore over every literary masterpiece you produce Pottsy)..... I just don't ever go back and read them again, have never needed to

I don't ask the same questions over and over Julie - just once ;)

merry christmas to all, and to all a good night!

The VMCI mag is often well worth saving, just for Pottsy's how to articles  :D

I'm in the same boat as you, Simon - wondering what to do with a box of VMCI mags covering a few decades. I guess you could call it a collection, and I started thinking about what other things I could've (or should've!) been collecting over that time. Included in the list would be NOS (New Old Stock) plastic heaters for the MK II S, lots of the plastic seat belt holder thingys and the plastic fuel pump breather thingy for the S, and for those who have read the other thread today, a few NOS Lucas 8TR controllers.

Anyone got an item or two to add (apart from brand new Clubman GT's that have been kept in a climate controlled facility since 1972!)?
