helloooo ive got a couple questions today i took the clubby for drive down to the movies and noticed that after holding my foot on the clutch it starts to loose pressure slowly engaging the clutch taking about 30seconds to be fully engaged with my foot still flat to the floor on the pedel. Clutch plate is about 100kms old have plenty of clutch fluid and the master cylinder adjustment is correct any one have and idea what i need to look at to identify and fix this problem? slave or master cylinder?? also my oil pressure is getting alittle low at hot idle 1000rpm about 18psi and hot run at 50psi it currently has valvoline 20w50, i was looking at maybe kmx 20w50(ausmini ppls seem to recomend) or possibly castrol sport 25w50. or worse case hpr50 or am i just to paraniod about the oil pressure?? cheerz matt |

i recon corect me if i am wrong the clutch problem could be your slave cylinder leaking slowly or mastercylinder on its way out i would give it a bleed and if that dont help change it with a spare one if u have one but i recon u are in for a new slave cylinder |

Because you are losing pedal this means that there is a leak somewhere. If it is not visibly leaking out of the slave it must be inside the master cylinder. The master cylinder has two seals and if the top seal is leaking it will slowly (or quickly!) lose pedal. If the bottom seal leaks the fluid will leak into the car. So my guess is the master cylinder. But I would rebuild the whole hydraulic system as all the bits are old. Don't forget to replace the hose while you are at it. |

Get in your car and push and hold your pedal down fully, have somebody watch the slave cylinder and watch whether it moves back in or not. If it gradually moves inward (ie the rod into the slave cylinder) your pedal will start to shudder and you will know you have a leak. If it holds the distance then i have no idea. |
