What is peoples experience with these? - I see the Australian suppliers only have the one sort for each end but MS UK list 3 different ones for each end and prices are in the order of $4, $6, $27 with them saying the dearer ones are better quality and last a lot longer.

Well I've never had a problem with the usual aftermarket ones, as long as you use proper metal CV clips, not bloody cable ties...

I dont know what the difference is but I have had gaitors crack and split within 6 months of being fitted on a laid up car . Same applies to steering rack boots
With the cheap steering boots I have found it impossible to get a seal around the rack end . These cheap boots all seem to have extra flutes. I have never had the same problems with original Rover ones . MS supplied my last steering rack boots but I believe some of this stuff is getting hard to get

There are two different types of CV Joints one has a lip at the top of the CV, the other has a Groove lower Down ,Most Aust suppliers supply the boot that will fit both types however you can buy a boot that fits the Lip type A boot that fits the groove type or a boot that will fit both types
As a matter of Interest If you are doing up Old CV Joints The Best One Is The One made in Canada The Next Best Is the Aust Made Then The Uk The any other
