thats exactly what I mean, about 1 inch, think they look a bit weird, thats why I thought they were not fitted right, so If I see a pic and they are the same I know thats how they supposed to be.

Its just that they don't look very secure and can be knocked off very easily.

Im not sure but i think that only the last part of the clip past the bend is supposed to be past the headlight ring.
I dont think you should see the straight part.

The clip goes in between the chrome surround and the end is bent at 90 Deg and has a hole that is supposed to be screwed in with the headlight securing screw to seecure it. What you see is what is left after the fitting is complete. You can see my dilema, it just doesnt look right unless I cut the clip in half and bend it with a set of pliers and fit it like you suggest, but somehow I don't think thats the correct way, so I will have to wait for the experts to peruse this post and see what ther suggestion are.

Mine sits a lot closer than that and is tighter than a Nuns nasty when trying to get the chrome surround on or off.

they're meant to be snug up against the glass, and don't forget to angle them inwards about 30 degrees so they look angry 8)
