I have on my hand 2 different petriol gaps (keyless ones), one is New Old Stock and another is reproduction. But funny enough, they don't look the same.
The NOS is more convexed, with a groove round the edge, bit thinner, much lighter and are more detailed. Back says REGD DESIGN. Comparing with the Repro, the NOS still has very bright new chrome but only looks a bit 'brown-tinted' to the repro.
The repro is more flat, without groove round the edge. Back says made in China.
Both are shipped from UK. Only the repro fits(which has 2 shorter legs at the back of the cap) to the neck (I have got the taller ones) The NOS have 2 longer legs at the back of the cap, so they couldn't fit without cutting them shorter, but I really don't want to damage this good old piece so purchased the repro one instead.
Anyone can post pics of their petrol cap close-up, front, back and laying flat would be heaps goods. Just want to have a look to confirm what a NOS/original type petrol cap will look like.
Thanks.
