Up until '92 the heater tap was on the engine head, and the water hose went in one side of the heater and back out the other. After 92 I think it was changed so that both hoses (water in and out) are on the passengers side, and the heater tap is inside the car. |

The pipes you refer to are rubber heater hose, buy it at any auto spares place. 1/2 inch is the size needed. Doogie |

In that case the water will flow from the thermostat housing into the heater and then back ot into the lower radiator hose. If you have the correct heater the hose inlets and tap should be on the left side. If not, you can still change it but you'll still need the right tap. Do you have a water heated inlet manifold? |

im not sure.. they are 1-1/4 twin su's on the manifold.it is the kind that can not be adapted to bigger su's via drilling & has a hole for my rover booster. it did come of a rover mini in the uk. not sure what year though. i can go have a look what am i looking for that indicates it would be water cooled. the heater i have is like between 86 & 89 got it from steve at bricks. |

the bottom radiator hose has an extra hose coming of it with a metal thing in it. this rover engine confuses me. i'm so close to this bad boy being done.. |

The 1994 engine would've had an injection setup from the factory. Because of this, if it still has its factory fitted head it wont have a hole in the top drivers side for the heater line. Water heated manifold is easy, are there two 1/2 inch holes on it for hose fittings? Now, just thinking, you dont actually need a heater tap, but it certaily dont hurt. It sounds like you have the radiator hose from the 94 engine. It has two hoses hanging off the side, one for heater and one for manifold. If you dont have a water heated manifold then leave one of them blocked. |
