hey guys, my starter motor is about to cark it!

how do you bench test one?

does anyone have one?

Nope , a stuffed starter can still spin without any load but not with load , been caught there before ...

Toss the old Lucas and get an Isuzu Gemini one.
PM `convertible mini' on here, he sells `em reconditioned.

Or buy a new one from Heritage MG in Sydney like Josh (Mini Mad) and I did.
These are Chinese copies but are not bad, warranty is 2 years.

The heritage ones are great because the holes have already been filed out to fit. It means no extra work....that's what I like.

They are not just filed out, they are milled properly to fit. I'm not sure whether Max buys them like this (probably) or machines them downstairs.
