Best idea would be to talk to an engineer (someone else might be able to tell you who's suitable in your area) as they'll have to pass it all for it to be legal .

Several years ago a mate (panelbeater) put a removable front on a clubman GT , the bonnet stayed on the original hinges and opened like normal (best for everyday road use , don't want to have to unhook everything just to chack the oil) and the guards , stone tray and grille all hinged forward after hidden clips were undone in the wheel arches . Once hinged forwards it was a matter of removing a couple of clips on the hinge and a fancy electrical plug with all the wiring in one go (a trailer plug works just as well though) and the front came off .

I've thought about making the front panels bolt on like modern cars instead of spot welded on, but this would only work on the front panels and maybe on the front stone tray so 3 panels :?
