I'm just curious as to what fuel consumption people are getting out of their mini's. I had a standard 1098cc and was getting about 6.5L/100k Now i have a 1360cc with RE-13 and 1"3/4 SU and am getting approx 12L/100k Just wondering what everyone else is getting? Cheers Richard |

i was just reading fuel consumption threads last night.. do a search, there's some big ones from '07 about 7 pages long with lot's of numbers.. I'm getting about 7-8l/100km depending on how spirited I drive. This is in a 1293 with a warm cam and HIF44 carb. I'm happy with that. There were a few examples of 1360's getting worse than 12l/100km in the other threads. Do a search and have a look around. here's one to get you started http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... my&start=0 |

Most people do not have accurate figures, they say things like "I do 320 km on a tank". They need to write down the speedo and the litres that it took. Also working out the L/100km can be a pain so I use the ESB Unit Conversion Utility to do the calculations. I am getting about 9.4L/100km with my Morris 1100 around town and 7.6L/100km on the highway. |

My warm 1100 engine (been in lots of minis) gets about 9l to the 100k, at 100kph, my stock 998 gets about 11l at 100, the imprezza gets 7.2l, and the outback, well, towing a mini on a trailer at 100, unleaded 18l to 100k, on premium, 12.5l to 100k. the moral of the story, if you have a good tow car, run it on premium. |

Just been on a long run today down Byron Bay way and with what is left in the tank, the Cooper has returned somewhere between 7 and 8 litres /100k's. Will have an accurate figure when I fill up tomorrow. As for the Outback, the use of premium fuel makes little difference towing so not worth the extra cost. However, taking the foot off the accelerator a little to reduce towing speed from 100 to 90 has significantly improved fuel economy on the 95RON fuel from around 13.2L/100 to 9.8L/100. As for taking the "Sunday Driver" option, I'm quite happy travelling this way and am always mindful of other roadusers and as yet have not copped any abuse or held anyone up. Money is better in my pocket, allows me to do more to the mini collection. |

Thats a fair difference based on the speed, i will have to try that. Our unleaded -90 - 91ron must be pretty crap over here cos as you would have read, premium makes a huge difference to my outback (my99 2.5) well worth the extra $4. It adds up to an extra 100k distance. And if I drive over a 500 k trip the exhaust gets a clean out, the tip goes amber inside. I found premium doesnt help the minis at all, but i still use a 95ron for the sake of it. |

Just filled up and the consumption figures, as per the calculator link provided by Morris 1100, came in at 42.35 MPG or 6.67 Litres/100Km. Weekend run distance was 178 miles, most being at 100K's an hour. I'm impressed ![]() |
