Any tips I have got a bit of rust on the left hand front guard just below the seams. Whats a good product to use.?? |

Its a time consuming job and takes some skill, but I found an angle grinder, sheet metal and a welder the way to go, remember to se seal inside the guard with a stone chip protector. |

i have found the BEST!!! product to get rid of heavy surface rust is DE-OX gel By POR15 Company. You wire brush the area and remove all flaky loose stuff and put gel on it cover in glad wrap and leave for about 24 hours or so and then scrub and wash it off with water it leaves shiny metal behind .... it is AWESOME!! I used a whole tub of it for my GT and am going to buy another - Deoxidine and hydrochloric acid liquid removers do not touch deep pitted rust and i wasnt game to attack it with a flapper disc or grinder as thinning the metal too much worried me Its a bit on the expensive side though $40ish to $50ish dollars a Kg (sold in kg tubs). But it is REALLY GOOD, cant reccomend it highly enough. if it is only light surface rust a wire brush on a grinder and some rust remover (hydrochloric acid) should be sufficient. Cheers Brenton |

no its really deep, i think i might even have to cut it off and plate it again. But i will buy this stuff for sure. THanks |
