Can anyone tell me what labels were fixed to the rocker cover on a MK1 S May 1966 build. Obviously the BMC label was one Was the other "Hot run tested" or the" weaslake patents : Were stick on labels used in 1966 or were they both printed aluminium TKS |

My car is English assembled, build date late August '66 and it has sticky-back labels. Regards Al |

Australian Cooper S rocker covers has a "BMC hot run tested" sticker on the front flat section of the rocker cover only. A genuine S rocker cover also has neat cut outs around the bottom at each end to clear the extra head stud & bolt. The english cars had the aluminium Morris/Austin name plate & Weaslake patents plates on Mk 1 and stickers for the Mk 2. Hope this helps. Regards David |

Thanks for the help I have the original cover off the car so it is correct. Does that mean that MK1 doesnt have a "Morris " sticker at the back? |

Regards David Hi David, I think you'll find the change to stickers was before Mk2, change point was in '66. Regards Al |
