hey guys i notice when i open my doors they drop maybe an inch then when you try to close them hit the side skirt a little. i was wondering how about i go fixing this, i am guessing it would have to do with the external hinges? Cheers Jarred |

OK, open the door half way and grab the rear top of the window frame and lift. If it move, you have loose hinges and maybe worn hinge pins. Easy fix on both counts. My 850 had the same problem but fortrunately it was just loose nuts on the hinges. And they are fun to tighten too

oh ok thanks for the help, so if its the hinge pins where would i be able to source them from? and how do i access the bolts to the hinges? |

to access bolts the inner two for the doors are accessable by opening the door (in between where door meets car) the outer top hinge bolt is accessable by removing door card and using a socket and the lower you have to remove the shiny scratch plate and there is a hole in the door pocket use a socket and extention on both. Thats by memory |

You can get hinge pin kits from several Mini suppliers. Not sure who near Newcastle or elsewhere in NSW. Try Mini King. Here's what they look like: http://www.minisport.com.au/prod35.htm |

Karcraft in Sydney www.karcraft.com.au carries the hinge pins and bushes, and you should be able to get them in Newcastle at that Mini wrecker place in Islington (sorry don't know their name). They resell stuff from Karcraft. |
