Dropped into Pick & Paymore on Sunday after the Richmond swapmeet with my 19 y/o mini nut mate Lani & we discovered a really clean MINI K with lift up door handles, pretty much stripped right down but it still had a immaculant hood lining still in it.

It seemed too good to be in the wreckers.

was it a grey/blue colour?? if so i grabbed the boot lid of it it had abit of rust in the shell and looked like something had dropped on its roof, was pretty complete when i saw it last week.

nah it was the K,, did you look at the roof above the drivers door, it was smashed in from something dropping on it from a crane looked to big to repair.

Yes you are right, that dent is from when they lifted it with the crane to put it on to a truck, still the rest looked alright.

whenever they get a Mini it's stripped bare in a week! Even though they are right up the very back of the lot!

You have to be lucky with Mini's there. I was there a few months back and they had 3 complete Clubbies. Other days there is nothing but ravaged shells....

Some people go every second day to check...some even have spy's watching out for them

i think the actual wreckers take all the good bits of them before they put them out in the yard, the guy told me he missed the nice boot lid on the K,, he usually gets $100 for them from an unamed mini spares place,, he went onto say they sell them for $250

I got it for $20 and its already modified how i wanted it,, no # plate flap and light fixed to boot

I find it difficult to get past the fact they actually charge you to get into that joint!!

Last time I went there I asked the guy do I get my money back if you don't have the part I want?? He didn't see the funny side. I won't go there on principle now!!
