hi im just pulling my rear sub frame out to recondition,all of the frame came out easy enough but how do you get the handbrake cable off the frame so you can get it out from under neath the car?

The guides that the cables run through need to be prised open at each end to release the cables.

does that include the pivot point on the back control arms

undo it at the hand brake...undo the two nuts and release the 4 screrws
Cable will come out tith the Subframe

i had tried the way you suggested gafmo but the nuts turn underneath and i need another person here to hold it wile i undo it.

haven't got long enough arms to reach the nuts and undo the screws? I can do it... just

after you've detached the cable from the brake, where the cable goes through the pivot on the arm, it has a little cylinder thing that needs to be flicked out of the pivot, and the pivot might need to be prised open a little to make it let go of the cable. Then you can feed the cable out of the sides of the subframe, and away from the guides in the centre, which may need to be prised open as well

after that you can take the subframe out and leave the cables on the car

Once you have removed the original handbrake cables carefully roll them up and THROW the things away.
The is a simple conversion that replaces them with a sealed cable system that never siezes up or frays when you need a hand brake.
Get two gear shift cables [the longer ones] off a toyota camray or corolla manual gear shift. Cut off the ball ends and run a thread 6mm on one end about 25mm long and other end 65mm long. The rods are tough steel and you need a good die to cut thread.
The short thread fit to the clevis on the brake lever[ one not each side] and the cable fits into backing plate bracket. The other end fit to hand brake lever with 6mm nuts. Then clip the cable under car
