The brackets that hold the pads in have been moving side to side and rubbing on the rotors. I found the brackets were worn and got another set out of some other 8.4 calipers which had no movement side ways at all, yet once installed they still have movement side to side and rubbed on the rotors ![]() So are the pictured calipers 1994 rover 8.4 calipers. ![]() See this gap, it is the problem. what brackets do i need? ![]() thanks Anthony. |

It might be because the second hand ones you are using are out of shape and bent. Using correct brake pads and new ittng kit should solve the problem. Try a new fitting Kit. |

I had this same problem with a pair of new discs and a set of EBC pads. The inner edge of the retaining plate rubbed against the disc. I would align it so it wouldn't touch, and it would walk back and begin to rub. (The squealing was annoying as hell). I ended up grinding back the plate a little where the clip contacted the disc. It didn't affect how the clip functioned, and removed the noise. |
