First of why does the gear stick start spinning around when i lift it up to engage reverse??? Secondly has anyone got a picture of the rear seat belts in use as i have never seen or been in 1 and they look odd and cant figure how they go?! Thanks in advance! ![]() |

Basically does the buckle go in the middle or outside!? |

The buckles are on the outside. The belt that mounts on the left of the parcel shelf goes to the right buckle and the one on the right goes to the left. |

re the gearstick, probably the steel pin that locates in the gearlever's slot to stop it turning is worn away and needs replacing. |

It`s normally the slot in the stick that wears ... & quite often added to the fact that the little pin in the side of the housing often bumps a bit outwards. |

I question both the above thess are at the gear stick end and would be for all gears. I'd say its the linkages behind the motor or those brass buches which i need to replace also |

Sometimes the hole in the alloy housing wears, I fixed Spiro the Moke once by drilling it to 5mm and press fitting a bigger pin in there. |
