Post subject: | Indicator switches |
Hi all I am looking at changing a much modified wiring loom in my '70 Cooper S for a good loom out of a '70 Mini K. One thing that I am noticing when looking at other cars here is there seems to be a variety of connections to the indicator/horn switch. My '71 Mini K has a connector like a six shooter barrel for the indicators and for the high beam it has a few seperate connections . A clubman here has a long flat multipin connector for both indicators and high beam. The wiring loom I have to put in has the six shooter barrel for the indicators but for the high beam it has a black multi terminal connector. Anyone know whre all these things changed ![]() Presuming what I need is to suit the wiring loom, ie, a switch with a black multi terminal connector for high beam and a series of bullet cannectors to go in the six shooter barrel, where do I get one ![]() Cheers Steve |

Well I've managed to answer my own question in a sense. ![]() This car shouldn't have the hi/lo beam on the indicator stalk so the black multi terminal connector is for connecting to the floor mounted hi/lo switch. Steve |

Steve,,, as far as i`m aware,,, the Mk2 "S" had the same-ish switch as the later minis but didn`t utilize all the hi & lo beam wires because they ran the floor switch still,,, so those wires were simply cut off the switch pretty barbarrick but that`s how there were |

Thanks Matt, I remember reading that now. Funny thing though, I went and looked at all 3 cars ('70 S, 2 x '71 K's), one of the K's has a floor mounted dipper, the other 2 have the dipper on the indicator stalk. They've just been changed over I hear you say, exactly what I thought, but with no sign of holes in the floor where a floor mounted dipper would have been ![]() Any ideas ![]() |
