Hi there,

Does anyone have a pic of the inside of a passenger (or drivers side) clubman door showing the window winder mechanisms?

Cherry's is busted (ooo that sounds kinky lol). The window winds down a bit and then winder moves out of place on the door skin, then you push the window down a bit and the winder clicks back to where it should be...I have to repeat this a few times to get the window down and it doesnt wind all the way back up. Is it the regulator?

Thanks guys & gals

What seems to be common that I've found is that any one of a few things can go wrong in the winder regulator setup.

Sometimes the spring can rust up and break, other times the teeth on the large gear can wear or bend.

If the rubber channels have had it they can put a lot more effective weight into the glass meaning the winder has to deal with more load than it was designed for.

In the doors of my car, all of these together went wrong, and on top of that the sheetmetal in the door skin was twisted and the bolts had ripped out!

If nobody has anything I'll dig out a winder gizmo and take photos for you tonight.

Jess,,, if it`s a left hand winder reg then i`ll give you one for free,,, I have plenty of them :-)

However--- if you need a r/h one then i`ll charge you a small fee.

K?

It sounds like the 2 of the 3 screws have come out of the pivot in the centre of the door. look through the 3 holes in the door inner panel and operate the winder, the pivot plate shouldnt move on the door. if the screws have come out they will be in the bottom of the door somewear.

Cheers
David.
