Wife just rang to say the under sink filter unit has split and water has gone everywhere. Apart from flooding the lounge and all the leads and speakers in the HiFi system it has poured through into the garage underneath on all over my workbench. Trays of Mini parts and a pack of gaskets are full of water and shelves are dripping water

The hardwood beams are dripping dark brown water over the nice light gold Avolon. Won't be getting home till late and leave at 4:30 am to go to Rocky for the weekend and not back till Tuesday night. Guess I'll be up late drying things out

Crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap .

Have you got access to a portable air conditioner ? I've had half an inch deep water go through the garage downstairs from all the rain in the last week so I've swiped the Little Dude's air con from his room (badly designed room , can't use a normal window mounted one and split wasn't practical without 10 meter plus hoses) and have it running on dehumidify . Water is constantly trickling out the house and everything is drying rapidly , much quicker than by physically drying things alone .

There will be no end of mopping up, and paint/wall damage.
Get on the phone to your insurers now - mine had big industrial drier fans out within about an hour.
