from ford escorts, fit mini's

i was having a look at fast fours with the mini van in it, also has a 76 escort van in it and i noticed the doors look incredibly similar.
as in same hinges and handle..
but are they?

what about side windows..?? The mini van has very narrow and long side windows. Is it possible to open upu the "hole" and put a larger window in??
