I would like to apologise to the Yellow Clubman that I did not wave to and then cut off without indicating in my mini tonight on Payneham Road. Normally I would wave and not drive in a manner that would make me look like a complete moron. For this I apologise.

But the Prince of Darkness struck me down tonight on my way home at about midnight. I noticed my headlights getting less and less but remained optimistic and the took the "I will look at that in the morning" approach. As the dash lights started to go and the distinctive loss of power, I knew the inevitable was on its way so I darted into the left lane and into a side street. Thus, crossing the path of the other mini that joined the main road at the previous intersection. I did indicate mate but the lack of electricity meant you didnt see. I only cut accross you opting for the last slightly downhill side street other than the rather uphill main road with no chance of push starting it if the fuel pump did stop kicking.

The rest of the drive home was a mix of backstreets and only using the headlights when necessary to keep the old girl chugging along.

It had to be a mini that I cut off didnt it. I have seen you driving around alot - Anyway I hope you read this...

Matt

Bugga :?
Don't feel too bad about it mate - you couldn't avoid it, so as they say in the classics "sh*t happens sometimes". If you see them often, then maybe you can wave them down next time and explain.
Though, if I had people wanting to stop me and explain their actions to me when they've cut me off (especially when I'm on the bike) I'd spend most of my time on the side of the road talking!!
So is it alternator (generator?)?

The car has a generator - but the voltage regulator is a little suspect so I will do some checks today and see whats happened.
