One of the options you can set in your profile is for phpBB to send you an email when someone replies to your thread or post. So, every time a post is made, phpBB might need to send an email to someone and tries to connect to the mail server. When the mail server is down, unavailable, unreachable, slow, or generally misbehaving this connection will fail, and phpBB vomits that error message you've been seeing. All it means is that someone didn't get an email regarding your post.. |
