I think the hi-flow is in order, but equally important to make sure your whole cooling system is in shape too eg radiator, fan etc. |

Buy a pump with a cast iron impeller, not the cheap S@%! pressed steel type. I have only used std pumps on every motor i have ever built including all my race motors and have never had the need for a "high flow" pump. |

Stay away from the ones with bent tin impellers, they are rubbish. If putting a hi-flow one in a smallbore, check the impeller doesn't foul inside the block... |

For the purposes of discussion and leaving the pressed steel impeller type alone, what is the difference between a standard water pump and a "high flow" pump? |

If putting a hi-flow one in a smallbore, check the impeller doesn't foul inside the block... Yeh made that rookie error last year.... standard pump should be up to the job if the rest of the cooling system is in good nick... |
