If a mini is around 500 - 600 kg's then how much of that is applied at the front versus the back? Would it be say 400kg's at the front and 200kg's at the back? Short of getting out some scales and putting them under the wheels does anyone know roughly? The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to work out some dimensions for a trailer and axle positioning. The balance point for a mini is where the standard jack goes into the sill, if you have late sills then its where the strengthening box goes across the floor. I find having this point 6 -10 inches forward of the trailer axle is good. |

I've always wanted to get 4 scales and put one under each wheel to see how a mini distributes it's weight. I would like to see the weight from left to right as well, the only problem is getting 4 identical scales that can safely and accurately take 200kg each  .

Well doing a quick calculation that works out at about a 60/40 split of the load between the front and the rear. From the information I have found it says that the hitch load should be between 5 to 10% of the towed load so now it will be a snap to work out the axle position. 
Also for accurate measurements they do make wheel weight scales for racing purposes but they are very expensive. Thanks for the responses guys, it was very helpful. Cheers, Alex |

.you could try and buy some of the biggest loser set after the show finishes
