A recent traffic offence has resulted in one or more demerit points being recorded against you. Where a provisional licence holder who is under 19 years of age incures one or more demerit points, section 81A (2) or the Motor Vehicles Act 1959 prescribes that the provisional licence must be extended untill the provisional licence holder turns 20 or untill you have held you provisional licence for two years,wichever is longer. As a consequence, youe provisional licence will be extended untill 25/02/2008 You will need to attend a Transport SA or Service SA, Customer service Center,with this letter and your current licence, so that you may be issued with a new provisional licence with the amended expiry date. A fee will be required for the issue of this licence. It is in your own intrest to attend to this matter as soon as possible as an unconditional licence canot be issued until you have held a provisional licence for the appropeiate period. i would appreciate your URGENT attention to this matter. REGISTRAR OF MOTOR VEHICLES....... |

It has taken over 3 MONTHS for me to get this letter,they stuffed up the fine twice and i also had to take 2 days off work to go pay them,NOW i have to pay another 10 bux to have a new licence printed out.. and they say they want my URGENT attention to this matter..STUFF em im not going to do it for 3 months coz thats how long they took to re-spond to me about the matter.. (was caught doing 73 in a 60 zone..was chasing cal.moker at the time.then get defected and he was about to work me over about driving on a trader plate) its time the goverment get there arse into gear and re-work the system coz ATM it stinks! |

The hint about your urgent attention is saying that the extra time you have to serve on P's will not START untill you get this letter sorted. If you want to cut your nose of to spite your face then go for it, but if you "make 'em wait" another 3 months, I believe you'll find yourself on P's for an extra 3 months as well [on top of the stated extension in the letter] Your call. |

that's one thing NSW has over Vic, can get your P's at 17, we've gotta be 18 and have P's for 3 years, unless you've moved from overseas or another state, still have to be over 18 but they take some experience into consideration - same speed limits as everyone else on the road though |

turned 17 today, its been extended untill im 20 pritty much so it dont matter when i go and see em |

Fair enough - If that's all you can read into this communication. I'd be interested to follow this one up in 3 years time to see if you were right.

Gee man your life sux 
And to think my first speeding fine was for doing 44 in a 40 zone in my 200hp MR2 when I was 19. I was going to complain, but the car was somewhat illegal..... so.....
