Whats the biggest size rims that you have seen on a mini? What's the biggest that fits?

14" with incredibly low profile tyres, 13" rims require low profile tyres and a bit of guard trimming.

You could fit 18" wheels to a mini without any cutting.

The problems start when you fit tyres to the wheels.

any bigger than 13's make make the proportions all wrong on a mini and look like shite. and as already said, 13s will need guards cut and wide flares like sportspacks to cover the wheels - about 2.5inches - 3inches of flare

Minis being small cars look best with small wheels.

Monster trucks have huge wheels but the 'vehicles' are as big as some small houses.

Anything over 13 looks too big and is impractical finding small enough tyres.

To answer your question I saw 16s on a Honda Civic Mini conversion once, it was hideous looked like a clown with huge shoes.

Go 10s or at the most 12s or 13s.... 8)

PM Mad-mk1 , he has 14s on one of his Minis. It is a show car so I guess he's expecting tyres to last for years before having to source more etc.

I have 13s with 175 yoko tyres and no guard cutting, it all depends on the offset of the tyres and how fat you want the car to look.

Correct, it's not the diameter - my 13" rims with tyres are only 2mm taller than the 12" I use for daily driving. It's the 7" width that causes problems but only under HARD braking and cornering.

Come along to Whiteman Park, you will see at least two mini's with 13x7" rims

I run 13x7 Superlites on my Moke, but on a Mini it can look quite silly.
On a Moke, however, it looks silly to start with anyway

Putting on bigger wheels changes more than just looks and tire choice.
You also have extra strain on the bearings, you will have to raise the suspension, if you go a lot bigger the diff will need changing.
Then you get to all the problems of having much more un-sprung weight than the car was designed for. Pick up a 10" rim, like a contessa, and then pick up a 13" or 14" rim and you will understand what I mean...

This topic has been discussed a lot on here (try a search) and really at the end of the day it's up to you, but in my opinion the worst thing you can do is put bigger wheels on.
