I sold a set of genuine Clubman GT twin carbs very similar on behalf of a mate, Ron Williams, who had professionally restored them. With no air filter they fetched $750 on ebay. 6 months ago. (they were in 100% immaculate condition)

So i'd say top dollar you could expect from the carbs SANS filter would be $800. And that would be top dollar!

Cheers
Matt

Usual price for an average complete genuine & matching (for those into full proper car restorations etc) set would be around $400+, add in the cost of a full resto and $800 is about right. (for fully restored etc)

There are twin carbs and then there are twin carbs ...

Going by that price I'm happy with my $160 carbs off a sprite

51 pounds is for just the air cleaner (mark1) which can easily be picked up anywhere. I have been after a mk2 air cleaner for 18mths and its the first one i have seen for sale.

I agree it is alot to pay for an air cleaner, though i will spare no expense in restoring "Morris" to his original glory. Only won the auction by $10

I may just keep it all for spare parts.

Babes, if you are quite serious then I agree with what you are saying.
If you NEED the last bit to make your car genuine/ even just how you want it, there can sometimes be no limit to what you will spend.
