i was nearly finished when i did the most stupidest thing, i hit the stud of the bolt by accident with a hammer while trying to get the thing off, now i have flattend the thread on the stud.... just want to know can i remove the ball joint and replace it or new hub? |

The "stud" is part of the ball joint, which you can replace. I would try finding a die nut for it and try to repair the thread, unless you REALLY messed it up. No need for a new hub. Just need to bend the locktab down, and get a 1.5inch socket/spanner to fit the ball joint and you can replace it. You will need to set up the shims etc though. |

next time wind the nut out just past the thread of the ball joint and then hit it (whilst supporting the top or bottom arm). if i remember correctly, removing the bottom one first was the easier way. |

its ok problem solved, went and borrows a thread file from a mate and fixed the thread..good as new. |
