At the ballarat swap, there was a head that I was umming and aring about. It was $60, and looked pretty good, but I didn't examine it too much. I think it was 12G1316, but can't quite remember. All I know is that it was big at the thermostat housing side (like a 1275) and it had 4 numbers after the 12G. They had $60 on it.

No dudes, a 12G1316 is a 1275 smog head off a 1275LS or 1275 Moke. Same as an 1100S head (12G940) with 4 air injection ports added.
33mm inlets, 29mm exhausts.
Mods just the same as a 940, I've got one with S inlets and bloody big ports..

$60 you say? Bargain- I paid $220 for a bare one years ago!

Didn't think it had the air pump holes. So might have been different numba. It did look like a 1275 head to me. If it were a 12G940, I woulda bort it, cause I know 12G940!

If a 1316, it has the holes. Maybe blocked with screws and ground off.

Of course it could be an early S head, but they were not 12G1316. 8)
