Opinions on mounting the highmount brake light. I prefer the top of the rear window as I think it is more line of sight and would be seen better but also think it blocks some of your view. where as bottom of the window doesn't appear to block as much view but wonder if it will been seen as well - what's your ideas?

Both mine (Hella) are at the bottom, at top may be OK if you can find a nice slim one.

Unless you are a real shortarse, mount it at the bottom of the window.
I don't even notice it now.

Mount it at the top & you will see a big black truck every time you look in the rear view mirror.

If you've ever driven a Mini van and can put up with the big blind spot in the middle of the mirror then go for the top. We've got two sedans with a high level light in each position and the bottom mount is a lot better for rear view - but I also have a van

Thats what I've got but the case it mounts in is 2" wide - however I took the LED strip out of the case and went looking for somehow to attach it during my lunch break - thinking a thin self adhesive velcro strips - just got to check if it will "hang right"

And did it? (hang right)

If so, sounds great - best line of sight for following drivers, not much vision impairment and removable (shows etc)

Let us know........

Bottom of the window will work better for rear vision.

Bottom is way better, top will restrict your view out the back window severely

I went with bottom. Top was more difficult. You'd need to run wires, etc...

But as the others say, you'd want to watch how you mount it up top. If it's not close enough to the glass, the rubber sealing strip could actually hide the light. Think of following 4WD's.

make a strip of LED's that go all the way around your back window, and also spells out "HEY STUPID, STOP!!" across the middle of the window - it might work...
