There is a bloke selling a very dodgy ID plate on Ebay at the moment (hurry, it will be pulled very quickly  )
Why do they do this?
You would think that he would at least get the numbers correct.

It is so wrong it is laughable.

I wonder how you get rid of years of oxydation and make it shiny without taking the black off?

I wonder what a Mk2 is doing with an ID plate?
I wonder why the Prefix is the same as the parts book and not the same as what was stamped on the cars?
I wonder why it has a date on the plate?
I wonder why it has no engine number, only the prefix?

This is the same bloke that sells blank plates on ebay every now and then.

Mk 1 is a YKG2S2
Mk 2 is YG2S4 (they deleted the second digit on the mk2)

The Parts book PUB1056M lists the number as YKG2S4 and this book is where everyone gets the wrong info from.
