Should I pull a harmonic balancer off one of the 1100's i've got sitting around and put it on the 998 A+ auto i'm putting in the Moke, as the engine never had one from the factory. Or... should I just leave the engine how it is?

nothing wrong with putting a harmonic balancer on, just make sure it clears the auto engine mount bracket/radiator bracket. from memry it should be ok.

It won't hurt, the Cooper 998 had one. But I've never seen a stocko 998 ever bust a crank without one, so there ya go.
