OK the 998 is on its last legs - compression is flagging, the box is handing me first at about 3500 and its starting to blow oil ( a little on startup and overrun)

So I need to start saving for heart transplant (with the required brake tranasplant)

The car is used regularly for short runs with four up (two adults and two teenage kids). and never gets above 70km/h but does have a requirement to do metropolitan sprints due to bloody kids being late again.

It needs to climb hills with load yet able to driven by an l-plater

So would you go the 998 route again with better breathing or go to an 1100 with weber/twin sus or somewhere in between?

my fav engine for a daily was my 1098 +0.060" with a 45mm weber and very small chokes/jets. From memory I think I made the 32mm chokes myself on a lathe and used 120 or 130 main jets....45F9 idle jets, RE13 cam I think & pretty std 12G295 head.

Surprisingly good fuel economy + very good get up and go.

If its for your moke you'll need to paint it an ugly colour to match the car :P :P :P
