Are they legal in Australia for older cars?

How do you think they'd look on a mini?

You can't have red lights on the front of a car. You can't impersonate a police car. You can't 'dazzle'.

With angle eye kits you can have red 'angle eyes'.

Ive got some on my mini, not completely sure on legalites but ive not been picked up yet. The kit came with 2 replacement headlights with seperate bulbs that click in for the outside. The kit came with red, blue and green sleeves that fit over the outer bulbs so the colour can be changed.

Will take and post some pics when i get home.
ps, i live on the northside of brissy so if it was a blue mini you saw with them thats probably me.

Joe

Hi Joe!

Yep it was a blue mini driving down Gympie Rd past Chermside a few months back. You were the first ever other mini I saw after purchasing mine!
You should come along to one of our runs, would be great to meet you and see your mini :)

If a part of your car meets ADR's and you modify that part it must still meet the relevant ADR. So for modern cars it is illegal unless they are marked as ADR approved or equivalent, however for most mini's I think it is fair game as long as it is white light. Blue, red, yellow, etc are all no no's

Although there may be other issues regarding lights that I am not aware of and I'm sure if you were pulled over for them the cops wouldn't understand when ADR's etc were introduced and would probably book you for it.

I have them on my mini. I got them off Tony (convertible mini on here I think) Their now H4 bulbs with the ring around that has a bulb at the top and bottom. They come on with the parkers and are only visible at dusk or early morning (no sun) when you turn your headlights on you can't see them but you can still pick up the colour (blue for me) from side on.

Yes that is them on,
They don't light up much at all,
That is just the park lights on, as I mentioned before the headlights are H4 bulbs which are a lot better than the sealed beams minis have as standard.
The angle eyes are not meant to improve visibility they are only a "style/appearance" improvement. The fact that they come with the H4 bulbs is an improvement but if you already have H4's their is no advantage.

Hi,
This is my mini with them on, The flash on my phone was pretty bright, so killed the effect a bit.

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3 ... 1231502904

Ive got them wired to a switch on the dash so they light separately to the other lights. The headlights i dont know about comparing to others, only drove with these ones.

Joe
ps I would love to come on a run, can you pm when one is on and ill do my best to come, been meaning to find out for a while.
