I'm assessing my options to sort out the small oil consumption problem I've got. I'll yank the head off soon and have a look, but I'm pretty confident it's not just worn guides and I'm going to need to go to the next bore size. I'm currently at 1098+.060".

I've got a 12G295 head on at the moment which appears to have had around 90 thou shaved off it to bring up the compression ratio, so flat tops are probably going to be out of the question.

Are 1098+.080" dished pistons available anywhere? I know you can get Hypatec and GR flat tops at this size, but dished?

Or should I look around for another 1100 short motor to rebuild and stick my go-fast bits on it?

Never seen dished +.080 pistons for a 1098.
Why not just open the chambers out a bit, that's what I did with my 1275 head when I had flat tops in it.
You can run up to 10.0:1 or more with a 731 cam and 98 octane, I doubt yours would be that high. A 1098 Sprite with flat tops was only 8.9:1 with the 295 head. Those chambers are bloody BIG!

I'll cc the head when I pull it off, but I'd really rather leave the chambers alone, gives me more options with the head on a different block if I need to do that later..
