Ordered some rear seam covers from MS - the price for the two with postage was less than half the price of one locally so I thought "good deal" To make up the weight to make the most of the postal charge I added some extra bits I needed. - nothing important just some specific bungs and hose clamps. Get an email from shipping saying that the freight charge shown was wrong due to the large size and it will have to come UPS at an additional charge of £54 (~$110) and to notify them within 3 days to cancel or they will send and charge. I replied immediately and said 'cancel the order' so then I repeated the order less the seam covers and added some other items. 24hours later I get an email saying the first order has been shipped by post at the original low post charge ![]() ![]() SO it looks like I'll be getting double the order ![]() |

As long as your second order was less than $110 worth whats the problem? I find if theres an issue with anything over there then RING THEM. Makes it so much easier. |

Happy days! I had a series of stuff ups by Minispares 3 years ago involving a Smiths Tacho and a very corrupted address database. In the end their were three new Smiths tachos orbiting the globe like little Sputniks attempting to find me in hybridised versions of my three former addresses. Eventually a post office worker in Thornlie NSW did some detective work and found me living in Port Kennedy W.A. Over the few months it took to finally receive my tacho I was on the phone to them trying to work out what the hell was going on. But because I was pretty cool about it, they added a permanent 5% discount to my account. That has come in very handy over the last 18 months ![]() Watch your account however, it's their stuff up, but they might just try to chase down their loss. |

Royal Mail is dear enough, but the UPS etc courier prices really suck.. I try real hard to avoid them now. |

Watch for a second charge on your account for postage in a few days. I've had a couple of companies who charge the freight seperately. |

Order an LSD from them last Tuesday, landed inc freight of 55 pounds @ 895.00 AUD, 6 days and it was on my desk, UPS is exspensive but the diff was about $400 AUD cheaper from Aussie suppliers... I also spoke to them on the phone regarding 2 different prices, Website and Miniworld magazine, they had no problem Honouring the cheaper price, Handled my transaction very professionally. Just call them |

The problems seem to be with larger or longer items. We ordered sliding window channels from them and got the same "postage is going to be dearer" line after the transaction went through. In the end we coughed up for the extra postage as we needed them. I think a lot of companies need to clean up there Internet sites regarding postage. Its becoming the norm to be quoted one thing on Internet shops and then getting the real costs a few days later.....very frustrating..... HRS |

Having sold PC's in the past, i had a similar issue with orders, Australia Post will only take things up to 20Kg's or to a maximum size. On the odd occasion you get caught out with larger than allowed sizes. Although doubling your order and shipping both is poor form, cancel your credit card on one of the orders. And when it arrives just put Return to Sender on the package so your not liable for the goods. |
