Post subject: | Mini for Sale- Price Recommendation? |
I have a 1976 Leyland Mini L (Yellow Devil)for sale in Queensland. It is registered (six months)and has a roadworthy certificate. It was fully inspected by Qld Transport two weeks ago because it got flagged on their system and they couldn't find a safety fault with it (something unheard of on a mini of that age). It has a transplanted 1100cc motor with around 120k on the clock. It doesn't blow smoke or use oil (no leaks either) running a single 1 1/2 inch SU carb. I have recently serviced it and replaced all the filters and spark plugs. It has an electronic ignition system. I have kept the car garaged all the time we have had it (10 years) and apart from a speck of rust on the passenger side rear window sill, there isn't any rust to be found in it (again Qld Trans. couldn't find any on it either). The paint is original and is still in pretty good condition, it has the usual shopping trolley dents here and there but it has never been pranged. The front sub-frame has been fully welded up because the tops of the suspension towers had cracked. It has 10 inch Cheviot Contessas on it running Yokohama A008's all round. It has the aftermarket black plastic flares and sill trims. New front adjustable tie bars, tie rod ends, adjustable high/lows. It has a PBR Vh44 brake booster (with compliance certificate) running standard brake cylinders on Cooper S one inch spaced drums all round. The interior is in good conditions, the carperts are fairly new with only minor wear, the hood lining is still intact but has water damage and a few tears (not bad for the original hood lining). The front door window seals have been replaced inside and out. It has a full window tint and a custom trimmed boot with removable floor that hides the spare tyre, battery, etc. Full sound system including alpine head unit, cd changer and sound processor, 8inch subwoofer and dual pioneer boot mounted amps. In essence, the car is ready to drive away, it is not an unfinished project and there is nothing that needs fixing (that I am aware of). I am hoping to get around $7500 for it. I can post photos for those that may be interested in buying it or if it helps to establish a price. Cheers Eugene |

Photos and your location would help asses a value. I hate to say but $7500 sounds a bit rich to me for a clubby with 1100 and drums. Others might disagree. |

i paid $6.500 for the last mini...66 mini deluxe crapy 1100 engine drums all round ...only thing good about it was the paint job.and interia ..full of rust as well..front floors etc so still cost me another $1000 to get it cut out and repaired.....i was later told i paid to much... but then again..good minis are hard to find... and its getting to the point i think you iether pay up... or wait till another one comes along...I allways had the impression there were less roundnoses out there than the alternative??so you woulod allways pay more for a roundnose... but then again....im no exspert... |

Check out Linus here.....he is a 76 model S, drums all around (had spongy brakes, needed the pads on the rear replaced), 998cc with head work, extractors, lukey exhaust, retrimmed interior, rust and dent free body (this doesn't mean perfect though, rough paint job too)......rararara. All that, I paid less than $4500. I can't see you getting $7500 for what you have, I'm sorry to say. Best of luck with sale though. |

Market is down alright! My rover is for sale at 6.5k, roadworthy and registered. It has an 1100 engine, disc breaks and virtually no rust, but nobody at the moment is spending any money. I'd have hoped that with rovers not being imported much anymore I'd be able to move it, but I guess not. |

we can kinda look around the picture tho its like I have tunnel vision. My advice would be to put it away until the market improves. |

I can vouch about the market being down as I have been trying to sell my LS for the last 6 months and no joy as yet.. It will have to sit in my garage until such time the right buyer shows up.. |

I bought a 68 deluxe - rebuilt 1293, 7.5" discs, tiny bit of rust in drivers floor and rear valance and battery box, paint is rough though, for $3500.... last year. mind you it had no stereo system, and required a rebuild of the brakes. came with no RWC or rego. have a look on ebay and see how many minis aren't selling at the moment.... |

Post subject: | Mini Sold |
Sold my mini on Ebay for $6800! Sold it on a negotiated buy it now price. Had 33 people watching it, I assume that half of those were other mini people watching to see how much it went for. Had the usual splattering of idiots offering to buy it for $100 above the starting bid. |
