I saw a heap of mini's in Wellington last Sunday while over here on holidays. They are driving from the top of the North island down to the bottom of the South island to celebrate the 50 years and also raise money for a charity.

Here are some pics.

I met with one owner of a Cooper S Mk.1 and his car and the mini with the extreme bodywork are both for sale on Trademe. I must admit it was brilliant seeing so many folks with such a variety of cars. For me it was weird seeing so many UK cars outside the UK.

A great mob doing some real good for charity. The media have been good too giving them solid coverage.

The Canterbury Mini Owners Club met them about 3/4 of an hour north of Christchurch and we convoyed in to Christchurch with them. Nice folks and they were having a ball. I believe they had exceeded their dollar raising target by the time they arrived here and still had a distance and further opportunities to go. Only one car expired on the journey to Christchurch, hope the rest made it to Invercargill OK.
