i just resently got my whole head redone, new valves, machined, thermostate, radiator cheacked. i also put a new sender unit in for the temp gadge. but when i was driving today the temprature seem to still wanna creep up. unsure if the car is over heating or would it be likly that i have to get my temp gadge adjusted? |

how long since you had all the work done till the over heating. Could be just the radiator cap hasn't been changed and that was the orginal problem |

changed that, it could have been but i think the head was warped from when i had brought the car, coz the gasket never actually broke, it was all done week and a half ago. |

What type of gauge is it? The original type in the cluster or is it an accessory type? |

i think it is origonal, its a leyland, with the 3 part taco |

is it getting hot? As in, is it boiling water, or loosing water? Is there any chance you could borrow a digital thermometer to measure the actual temp, because without seeing the car its not very easy to say if its over heating or not. |

Did you replace the water pump? Depending on the type you have the impeller's can rust away to nothing - the water could just be moving around too slowly. I would also check the actual temperature of the engine with another thermometer. I know the gauge in my car is within 2°C of accurate. |

could also be the replaced new sender unit for the temp gadge was the wrong degree...id get the temp checked as per above |

just borrow another type of temp gauge from somewhere else. To test the gauge in my car I used the one that mum uses for roasts - just remember to wash it off before you put it back though 
I just warmed the car up with the radiator cap off to see what it warmed up to on the roast temp gauge and what my car gauge said. As gaf said, the wrong sender unit could've been fitted too. |

just went for a drive car did not get above normal, could be a combination of temp today and wrong sender unit. i just ordered the one from my supplyer, how many dif types are there for minis? |
