Any good 20W/50, preferably not higher grade than SG.
More modern oils have no ZDDP additive, which Minis and older V8s etc with flat tappets need to prevent cam lobe and follower wear.

I like KMart's KMX 20W/50, it's 1/2 the price of Castrol Edge Sport 25W/50 (also a great oil).

I used to use it. It loses viscosity too easy in high speed use, ie track days.
There are better oils available now... ^^^

Yep, HPR30 used to be my oil of choice too until Penrite changed the formula to API SM. Their website now says this:

Not recommended for motorcycles. SAE 20W-60, API SM/CF

If it's not suitable for bike engine/gearboxes, it's not suitable for a Mini either.

KMX for me.

Thats interesting about the HPR 30. i have used it for years and i have an allmost empty 200lt drum of it so when its finished i might go back to the good old BP Corse Plus.
