Hey, How can I Minimise the cabin noise in my 1978 Mini Clubman, 1032cc? I have a sports Lukey, exhaust on it running straight down the middle and extractors. I put a resonator on it get rid of a lot of droan. I think a lot of the noise is now coming from the engine, either way it is far too loud. How can i minimise noise? Any help will be appreciated! Go back to a stock exhaust. Dynamat in the car may help too. |

Mine is pretty bad as well. Its got no bulkhead covering. And no undercarpet sound deadening at all. I also decided itd be a good idea to pull most of the hessian sacking type stuff out. Putting sound deadening under the carpets would be a good start. And on the bulkhead. |

i put two layers of carpet underlay in my car, and then moulded carpets. The molded carpets are thick, so three layers takes ALOT of noise out. Only problem is need to watch how think it is around your pedals. |

i dynamatted the whole floor and got it painted the same colour as the car and in the boot to.id advise that i got my for 14.50 a sheet ended up costin me 145 all up. then you could fit underlay over the top and moulded carpet and should be good. TUCK3R |

Had same problem in mine on 2 inch. Put in a straight through hot dog before the lukey. It does the trick, reduces the noise about 20 decibels, honest, and no performance difference |

I can't hear my exhaust, the 45 Dellorto induction noise with 38mm chokes drowns it out.

Geez, give a guy a break....I'm pretty sure he wasn't looking for prestige car like interior noise levels... 
Sound deadening trim behind the air filter removes a fair amount of noise, as does ensuring there is some deadening behind the dash trim and carpet up under the dash behind the heater. It's easily forgotten. Once you get the sound deadening sorted out, it removes most of the high frequency mechanical clatter and leaves you with an awesome exhaust note. |
