Post subject: | Disc Brakes |
Hi, I want to buy some disc brakes for my mini. I want to keep my 10 x 5 superlites, so 8.4 inch discs are out. Im looking at cooper s disc brakes but i found the minisport 7.9 inch 4 pot callipers for not much more. Are these brakes worth getting over the stock discs? The car has a mildly worked 998 and im looking to do a few hillclimbs and autocrosses. Cheers, Joe |

If they are the minisport UK calipers, drop willy a PM to ask about the set he had fitted. He had some problems with poor pedal due to flexing. |

I just had two friends here in town order 7.9" Vented discs with alloy 4-pots from minisport UK, they both had extremely poor pedal. No matter what they did, it stayed the same. (one is a good mechanic) I suggested they need better brake pads, (they presumed the supplied pads would be a good grade, i said they'd be the cheapest as it was a 'package') They bought some of the 'sports' pads from minisport UK. Instant fix, now they have perfect pedal. ![]() They both use minis in sprints & hillclimbs etc. They say there is a slight but noticable improvement over there cooper s discs. Matt |

I'd be fitting standard Cooper S discs/calipers. |

I like Cooper S discs and calipers. Parts are easy to get here and relatively cheap. They stop great on the road with Blackstuff pads even without a booster, ditto on track days etc with Greenstuff pads. |
