Hi, Just wondering who runs a brake booster on their cooper s discs. All i really know of them is that they amplify your brake pressure so you dont need to hammer the brake pedal as hard as without a booster. Is that right? Any info would be great as im looking to buy disc brakes very soon. Cheers, Joe |

They work for many years when they are rebuilt. Only problems come when you grab one from the wreckers and put it in. Boosters are very reliable otherwise. They do clog up the engine bay somewhat, and will help braking as well...but minis will stop nicely on discs with a nice set of quality pads in any case... |

we run two boosters on the fang one out of an 1800 for the front and a mini one for the rears |

Once you become adjusted to unboosted mini disc brakes you will love the pedal feel. It's never quite the same with a booster, and unless you are very slight or feeble you should have no problem pushing hard enough to lock them up. |

Absolutely!! Unboosted discs are excellent! Much better feel, i just have to remember when swapping into the mini from the modern car that i need to press a wee bit harder on the middle pedal

We don't run one on our S powered Moke. It has always stopped fine in all the motorkhanas we've done.

I run my Mini without, but I'm putting one in the wife's 1412 van when I build it. Why? 1. Coz I have a recoed one already on the shelf. 2. She likes the feel of modern car brakes...

Had mini's with a booster and without , I prefer it without just because it's what I'm used to and like . |

The only mechanics who touch my minis are those that own minis themselves!!!!

the diaphragm failed on my booster a few years ago, I took it off, and bought the bits to fix it but haven't bothered more important when fitting disks is to change your rear brake cylinders to 5/8" bore, otherwise you will have rear wheel lockups in hard braking conditions |

Both my Mini's run them. I prefer the boosted feel, but as said not necessary just another luxery really. My current project has 4 pot vented discs on the front but I won't be running a brake booster as the car has dual brake lines so a single brake booster wouldn't work and setting them up boosted requires either too much room or is too complicated. So we'll see how that feels. |

Hahaha........they're minis after all!
I honestly think that I had boosted brakes, I wouldn't be able to stop. WIth 4 1/2 " wide Falkens on the front, I skid bloody every where as it is. |
